Miramax and Money
Gooch, where the heck have you been? MIA since the start of class. Remember there is NO CLASS next week because I have a conference. So class again on the 15th.Kudos today to Montesa who hooked me up with a fellow who used to be in distribution with Miramax. Now, here's the GREAT news about that ... he's going to come talk to class about how to get money to make your film. He's also going to do a workshop in September about Finance and Distribution for the Independent Filmmaker. I spent a good amount of time with him today and was impressed with his pragmatic, practical, pithy advice. He cuts right to the heart of the deal. He said he'd consider consulting on "interesting projects." Could be some of the best money you'll ever spend.
