GREAT Talk by Jim Doyle
Former Miramax producer Jim Doyle gave a terrific talk on funding, distribution and attaching elements to a script. Students at MCC were so excited and inspired, they chatted for a couple of hours following the presentation. This may have also been because this was the last session of the summer film club. Students now have to wait until the end of August for another film fix.For those of you who have started your screenplays, you might want to download the Word Screenwriting Template that uses style sheets to help you write more accurately and effectively. The format helps you to TIME your script and only include what is necessary for filming.

Group Projects Redux
Here we go with the last hurrah of the summer. Submit your script ideas and I'll post them here. Let's see if we can find something exciting to work on.
Thanks to Mike Montesa
Mike graciously demonstrated studio lighting last week (in spite of the horrible heat in the room) and shared his vendor list and experience. I'm looking forward to seeing how the projects LOOK now. Kudos to Lindsey, Peter and Nick for completing their digital stories. Three compelling pieces. Super recognition to Peter Lowry for finishing last week. With any luck, we'll all be sitting in a cooler space this week.Tuesday, July 06, 2004
Lighting DVD & Demo Tonight
Well, I'm back from the midwest. My Mom had emergency quadruple bypass surgery while I was there. She's doing well. I'm weary from the drive. While I enjoy driving for the experience of looking at the "real" America, it was a long, long haul.My lighting DVD came so we'll be watching that tonight. Montesa says he'll bring his light kit by so we're going to light a few scenes and take a look at them on cameras. We'll also be looking at your digital stories. See you there.
